Services
NGJ Corporation is a game publisher bringing Japanese indie games to the global market.
We provide publishing, localization, sales strategy, and marketing support to bring compelling Japanese game titles to overseas stores such as Nintendo, PlayStation, and Steam, helping them reach players around the world.

We do more than simply register games on overseas stores. We consider which regions and audiences each title should reach, and design an overseas publishing strategy based on the unique appeal of the game and the vision of its developers.

Depending on the title and its development status, we flexibly consider various contract structures, including publishing agreements, co-development, overseas distribution support, and sales agency arrangements. Depending on the contract terms, NGJ may also partially cover costs such as localization, porting, promotion, and event exhibition expenses.

While we support online meetings, we also value visiting developers directly when needed to deepen our understanding of their games. We are open to meeting not only in the Tokyo metropolitan area, but also with developers in regional areas and at game events, working together to build the best way to bring each game’s appeal to the global market.

Workflow

The basic workflow for overseas market expansion is as follows.

  • Initial Consultation and Hearing
We begin by learning about the game, its development status, target regions, and sales direction. In addition to online meetings, we can meet directly when needed to discuss the game’s appeal, development background, and future vision while exploring its potential for overseas expansion.
  • Title Analysis and Strategy Planning
We review the game’s genre, target audience, visuals, gameplay feel, supported platforms, sales regions, and competing titles to determine which markets and approaches are most suitable. We clarify the strengths of the title and consider how best to communicate its appeal to overseas players.
  • Contract Structure and Business Terms
We consider the appropriate contract structure based on the title’s situation, including publishing agreements, co-development, overseas distribution support, and sales agency arrangements. When necessary, we also design business terms that may include partial coverage by NGJ for localization, porting, PR, event exhibition, and other related costs.
  • Selection of Regions and Platforms

    Steam

    Nintendo Switch

We consider the most suitable platforms and sales regions for each title, including Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation, and Steam. Based on the user base of each store, release timing, and promotional opportunities, we determine the best direction for overseas expansion.

  • Localization, LQA, and Porting
To ensure the game reaches overseas players naturally, we provide localization that considers not only translation, but also cultural context and the overall player experience. When needed, we also conduct LQA, console porting, display checks, functionality checks, and other quality verification processes for each region and platform.
  • Store Registration and Submission Preparation
We organize the materials required for each platform, including store descriptions, visual assets, trailers, screenshots, ratings, and submission documents. We also support the creation of store pages that communicate the appeal of each title effectively.
  • Marketing and Promotion
We plan and execute promotional activities suited to each title, including Steam events, social media initiatives, media PR, and domestic and international game event exhibitions. By sharing information continuously before release, we aim to increase awareness among overseas players.
  • Release and Sales Launch
We conduct final checks for launch on each platform and support the release process, including store publication, announcements, social media posts, and media outreach. We work to maximize exposure at launch and support strong initial sales momentum.
  • Post-Release Development
After release, we continue promotional efforts while monitoring sales performance and user reactions. Depending on the title, we consider and carry out ongoing marketing initiatives such as collaboration cafés, exhibitions, real-world events, social media campaigns, Steam events, overseas event participation, and media PR to keep the title’s appeal reaching players over time.
